Whitening

Many people would like to whiten their teeth to create a brighter smile. Professional whitening systems are far superior to over-the-counter systems, and the whitening result lasts longer as well. There are four main types of whitening systems we offer to patients.

  • Professional stain removal

Teeth can become stained by plaque, tartar, coffee, tea and other foods over time. A professional cleaning can often remove much of the stain that has gathered on teeth. Professional cleaning is always recommended before whitening treatments to thoroughly assess what type of whitening is best for a patient and to kick-start the whitening procedure for optimal results.

  • Crest white strips

Crest whitening strips are available over the counter and as a professional strength product only available in dental offices. We highly recommend the professional product since it is stronger and more effective than the over-the-counter version. Crest whitening strips are an excellent entry-level whitening product that will whiten well and also provide an opportunity to see how easily your teeth whiten and whether you will have any sensitivity. The strips are worn like a band-aid on the upper and lower teeth for about 30 minutes twice a day for up to three weeks in a row.

  • Tray-based home whitening

Custom trays can be made to fit precisely over your teeth. Whitening solutions will be placed into the trays and then the trays are worn during the day or night for about two weeks, depending on the system to whiten the teeth. Based on the shade of your teeth, we will recommend the product and timing that is best for you. You can keep the custom trays after you are done with your full whitening procedure for touch-up procedures later on, where you use the whitening solution for a day or two to bring your teeth back up to the whitened look that you want.

  • In-office whitening – ZOOM!

In-office bleaching provides the quickest and most effective way to whiten teeth.  With in-office bleaching, the whitening product is applied directly to the teeth.  These products are used in combination with a special light.  The light accelerates the whitening process.  Results are seen in only one 60-minute treatment.  At our clinic, we use the well-known ZOOM! In-office whitening system for the best results.

How Long Do the Whitening Effects Last?

Whitening is not permanent.  People who expose their teeth to foods and beverages that cause staining may see the whiteness start to fade in as little as one month.  Those who avoid foods and beverages that stain may be able to wait one year or longer before another whitening treatment or touch-up is needed.

The degree of whiteness will vary from individual to individual depending on the condition of the teeth, the nature of the stain, the type of bleaching system used and how long the system was used.

Orthodontics

When you feel good about your smile, it automatically makes you feel more confident. The good news is that if you have been holding back from fixing your crooked teeth and imperfect smile due to pain, anxiety, or aesthetic concerns, Invisalign or Clear Aligner Orthodontics is a great solution.

Invisalign/Clear Aligners are an alternative to traditional braces that improves your smile by gradually adjusting the position of your teeth. The process involves wearing clear, removable aligners 20 to 22 hours a day to move your teeth back into their proper positions. The comfortable aligners are designed to fit your teeth perfectly at every stage of the step-by-step process and apply gentle pressure to move them to the correct position. Aligners are replaced every one to two weeks, and you won’t be required to visit the doctor every time, which makes it more convenient.

Is Invisalign Right for Me?

Invisalign gradually moves your teeth back to their intended positions to give you a perfect smile. The treatment is designed to correct mild to moderate underbites, overbites, crossbites, and other orthodontic issues. To determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign, schedule a consultation with us.

How Is Invisalign Different from Traditional Braces?

There are many differences between Invisalign and traditional braces. While Invisalign can be more costly than braces, they are more aesthetically pleasing since they are transparent and removable. Invisalign offers many benefits that make it more appealing than traditional braces, including:

  • No dietary restrictions

  • Less frequent office visits

  • Removable aligners

  • Better confidence with transparent aligners

  • Easier teeth brushing

  • Predictable results for mild to moderate cases

  • No painful wires or brackets irritating you

As you can see, Invisalign offers many benefits. Contact us today to schedule a consultation to see if you are a good candidate.

How Long Does the Invisalign Process Take?

While the answer to this question is different for everyone, on average, the treatment process takes between 12 and 18 months. However, it is important to note that the length of treatment depends on many factors, including how complex your case is.
